presentations!
Several TeamUSA faculty presented at the Team-Based Learning Collaborative Conference
in San Diego, CA, March 2018. Theresa Wright, Colleen Lynch, Debra Swanzy, Kimberly
Jordan, & Julie Estis received the "Best Poster" award for their poster, "TBL based
integration of clinical situations to enhance nursing student perceptions of the elderly:
A mixed-methods study." South was well-represented at this international TBL conference
with the following presentations:

-Bridget Moore, Jen Styron, & Ron Styron: Exploring computer-based and paper-based perceptions of Team-Based Learning’s readiness

-Hannah Szatkowski & Lauren Brannan: A student-centered approach to peer evaluation in Team-Based Learning.

Lauren Brannan & Hannah Szatkowski presented "The application of a Team-Based Learning
model in a literacy methods course" at the meeting of Professors of Literacy Teacher
Educators, a special interest group of the International Literacy Association in Orlando,
FL (July 2017).
Julie Estis & Cecelia Martin presented "What happens when you try something new in the classroom? Student impressions of Team-Based Learning" at the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges Annual Meeting in Dallas, TX (December 2017).
Phil Carr, Cecelia Martin, & Julie Estis will present "Instituting and assessing the impact of Team-Based Learning in a general education anthropology course" at the Association of American Colleges and Universities General Education and Assessment Conference, Philadelphia, PA (February 2018).
Karen Peterson will present "Team-Based Learning in the humanities" at the Intermountain Teaching for Learning Conference in Henderson, NV (March 2018).
Laureen Freegeau, Leier, R., Chikatala, S., Corejo, W., and Ojiambo, U. will present "Connecting North and South: Engaging English Learners from Latin America with U.S. World Languages Undergraduates through Reciprocal Service Learning" at the Comparative and International Education Conference in Mexico (March 2018)
Leander Grimm will present "The Significant Impact of a Dedicated Team-Based Learning Curriculum on a Surgery Clerkship and Standardized National Examinations" at the 38th Annual Meeting of the Association for Surgical Education (ASE) in Austin, TX. (May 2018).
Drew Lewis & Steven Clontz will present "An Introduction to Team-Based Learning. Presented at the Mathematical Association of America MathFest" in Denver, CO (August 2018)
