Homecoming 2023: Diamonds Are Forever

Thousands of University of South ɬֱ students and alumni danced and cheered their way through “Homecoming 2023: Diamonds Are Forever,” a 60th Anniversary celebration that included a bonfire, fireworks and a football game.
A parade on Saturday featured the Jaguar Marching Band before the kickoff against Central Michigan University at Hancock Whitney Stadium.
At halftime, Maiben Mitchell, a communications major from Mobile, was crowned 2023 Homecoming Queen. Ja’Michael Washington, an engineering major from Montgomery, was named Homecoming King.
Students enjoyed several days of spirited activities. They opened homecoming week with Junk the Jungle, the annual tradition of tossing toilet paper streamers into the trees of the USA Traffic Circle. Fun Fest offered free food and games at the Student Center Amphitheater. Jag Wear Wednesday featured a wide range of red, white and blue ensembles.
On Friday night, the National Panhellenic Council sponsored a Homecoming Step Show. A pep rally featured a classic car show and a Cooper Trent concert, along with the bonfire and fireworks.
