Additional Recruitment Opportunities

Building a brand with students can take time, but by considering additional recruitment opportunities in conjunction with career fairs, you speed up the process and begin forming a talent pipeline. Your active participation in these career fairs is crucial to our recruitment efforts. Read below to view common recruitment options offered at the University of South Çàɬֱ²¥.

  • On-Campus Interviews: Consider hosting on-campus interviews following a career fair or campus visit to build your reputation as an employer who hires students from USA.

  • Informational Tabling & info Sessions: Promote current opportunities with your company or give a brief overview of your industry and why your employees love working for you. Please note: Career Development will do its best to meet this request, but certain dates may be unavailable due to conflicting career fairs, or the relevant college may not be available. In either case, we will do our best to find an equivalent recruitment opportunity.

  • Classroom Presentations: Employers hiring specific majors or interested in fostering students' career development should consider classroom presentations. Career Development will connect with our on-campus partners to find available dates. Classroom presentations depend on the professor's academic schedule, so requests made up to a few months in advance have the best chance of being accommodated.

â–¼   Recommended Recruiting Cycle for University Talent

We have created a suggested recruiting cycle for you to connect with emerging talent every year.

Fall Recruitment: September & October for Dec Graduates
Spring Recruitment: January, February & March for May Graduates
Summer Recruitment: March & April for Seasonal/Part-time Positions

â–¼   January Hiring

January is one of the busiest hiring periods of the year. Increases in employer competition, combined with an influx of candidates, can strain a company's hiring team and slow the process. Below, we have provided a few recruitment tips to help you capture recent graduates and university talent during this time.

June, July & August: Register for fall recruitment events early to ensure that there is ample budget set aside. For certain events, like the HireAJag Career Fair, we offer early bird registration at a discounted cost.

September & October:  Attend career fairs and events to engage with candidates and build brand awareness.

November: If not completed already, begin your event follow-up with candidates.
(Optional): Post on social media and send out messaging targeting college students. Examples include references to their finals or graduation.

Early December: Start posting on social media about your hiring plans for the new year. Share employee testimonials and spotlights to showcase why candidates would love working for you.

January: Post your positions on various job boards, Including our career platform Handshake.
(Recommended) Contact your local campus career centers and inform them of your upcoming opportunities.
Late January: If you haven't registered already, consider participating in spring career fairs in February and March to fill any remaining open positions. The HireAJag Career Fair is a great option, as recent graduates and alumni are invited to attend.
